Pleasure and Pain, together again.....

MYNX SYNX- A RETROSPECTIVE

Wow, people! Mynx has been caught in a tragic vortex-spin or some trippy time-space continuum evil shudder. During the last 7 days, everything has changed, for the good and for the bad.

Allow us to explain.

It all started when one member of Mynx decided to nail some of the band members for being, well, lame. And that, of course, prompted the band mate who was most disturbed by the "lame-calling" to become contentious.

What ensued was a virtual bitch slap. Sorry, moms and dads of young children, but that's all this "altercation via email" can be called. Really, it included long drawn out chapters of emotional tirades such as "while we're at it," "remember the time?," plus the ever-popular "cut the drama," "don't even get me started," and numerous "ohhhh, reaaaaalllllly?" comments in the form of emails.

And as much fun as it would be for y'all to read the word-for-word transcriptions of these precious tomes, we dare not print such vivid vituperation! (BlipsWerx lawyers are the biggest sharx on the northern hemisphere Pacific Coast).

In a nutshell, the band member who was most upset quit Mynx, just days before our big debut at Kahle's Big Good-Bye Ball in Paso Robles, California.

And then the next day, in a miraculous turn-around, she un-quit. Whew! And the best news was that BlipsWerx (as far as we knew), was unaware of the growing animosity....

IN THE GREEN ROOM

All went surprisingly well back stage on Sunday after Mynx dismissed their groupies, style consultants and the press, and then categorically went through the rock star motions of dressing and preparing for their show.

Tension in the room was thick, like putrid fog, or 10-day-old peas porridge hot finally gone bad and cold, or a Hollywood dumpster on a hot sultry mid-August day.

And yet, lip glosses were shared, compliments were exchanged, and sick high-fashion footware was extolled with super-syrupy smiles and much-too-twinkly winks, as Mynx paraded into the limelight.

ON STAGE

Excitement filled the warm Paso Robles air as Mynx sashayed onto the stage, greeted by cheers and shout-outs from fans.

Kiki kicked off the set with a rollicking entrance into "Ain't Talkin' 'Bout Love," adorned by backing vocals  of Alexia, RoXXy and Serenity. The song ended with gusto, and without a beat, they started "Tush," surprising fans with their own sultry version of the song.

Band introductions led the audience into rounds of laughing and clapping (see the video on YouTube and the BlipsWerx site), as Mynx rolled easily into "Talk Dirty To Me."

Their final tune was, naturally, their hit single, "Junkie For Your Love," which RoXXy started solidly on the bass.

But then Kiki unknowingly stepped on her guitar cable and yanked it out of her guitar, prompting the other Mynx to stop the song!

ROCK STARS COLLIDE

A stage squabble started and nearly killed the phenomenal energy that Mynx had built with their audience. RoXXy asked Kiki, "are you really ready to start?" and then Alexia asked her "did you write this song?" Serenity watched with abandon as Kiki, obviously overly-defensive and out of character at her gaffe, told Alexia to "shut up or I'm going to pull your hair."

But then RoXXy quelled the madness by playing the intro, before a real fight erupted.

The show ended on a spectacular note, with the crowds asking for another song! Of course, BlipsWerx producers stated in no uncertain terms that they were not paying any over-time to Mynx or their entourage, so the show stopped short of an encore. But Mynx lived up to their reputation of "Always leave the audience begging for more!"

SHOW'S OVER

Before the audience left the event, RoXXy took the mic and announced that she was moving back to Colorado for good so she could live in a perpetual Rocky Mountain High.

BlipsWerx promptly tore up the Mynx "spec deal" contract.

The End.

(Unless you are a female bass player. Or female rhythm guitarist. Or female drummer. Auditions, anyone?! Call Kiki Cash for info).

Love and peace to all our friends, fans, and remaining supportive family members,

MYNX.

P.S. See the video anyway, and always, Thynx Mynx!

Session Update

The "Junkie" session was a success. Our producers were really happy with the trax we laid down.

So we just heard a rumor that someone as yet unknown "stole" our master by recording on a handheld device during the engineer's playback. Who was in the studio besides Mynx and the BlipsWerx team?!

Very creepy. We'll try to get to the bottom of that mystery and in the meantime, mixing continues.

Hopefully the THIEF's underhanded recording will get destroyed or erased or digitally messed up! We don't want some lame-sounding version to leak before our fully mastered recording of "Junkie For Your Love" hits the scene.......

More to come!

In the Studio Tonight!

Mynx will be in the BlipsWerx Studio tonight to record our original song "Junkie For Your Love!"

The four of us have been working over-time to prepare, and all we can do now is plug in, put on headphones and wait for the click track!

Let's cross our fingers that the producers are in a good mood for the session. They did mention that cameras are not allowed tonight, but I guess that's better and the Mynx will be able to focus on our music instead of pouting for the lens!

An update to follow......

Kicker

Oh yeah, I almost forgot to mention the other bump on Bedlam Boulevard, courtesy of our friends at BlipsWerx:

Not only did they move up our concert calendar, the venue for our central coast gig changed from a hot ticket big ballroom with a stage, lighting, a dance floor, dressing room, parking lot and concession stand in a hip college town called San Luis Obispo, to a farm somewhere in Paso Robles.

There, our stage will be a porch, Mr. Sun will provide lighting, the dance floor is made of grass, and the dressing room is the family bathroom. Concessions: BYO Everything.

Are we complaining? No.

Yet, once again, the entertainment industry never ceases to amaze us.

The positive aspects of this venue change: No noise restrictions! No clean-up fees! There's a pool and jacuzzi! Fresh eggs! And no one crashing the party, because no one will ever find this place nestled in the hills of a faraway land. Ahhhhhhhhhh!

Absolute Insanity!

Hi Sweet Pea to all you fabulous readers of "Mynx Winks!" Are you ready for another crazy episode in the Mynx saga?

BlipsWerx producers told us tonight that in addition to moving up our concert calendar, Mynx will be recording our first song this coming week! What?!?!

Mm hmm, they said we should be excited for the push so that our fans will be able to "GET THE SINGLE" prior to our concert on June 15th.

Not that we're un-excited, o great producers who make and break music careers, but, uh, Roxxy, Alexia and Serenity haven't even learned their parts yet because they've been working on all the songs for the concert.

So is this more like a shove than a push, and is Mynx freaking a bit? Yes.

To BWP producers: Totally not fair, I might add. But hey, we love you for signing us... up for a joyride on Bedlam Blvd.

And on the other hand -- which is on the stick shift -- we are ready to navigate through this nightmare with rockin' attitude!

Pressure turns coal into diamonds... and demos into hit songs!

Big Changes in Camp Mynx

Hey everybody,

Check it out. We had a rehearsal the other night and the BlipsWerx producers dropped a big bomb on us.....

They moved up our central coast debut gig by several weeks. That means we are cramming and jamming as much as possible until we hit the stage! I mean, bleep, we were already working hard to get our show together.

Insider Info: Serenity said she might crack under the pressure especially since she is also freaking out about her stage wear, but we all told her to put it on ice because she'll look fantastic and be fine if she doesn't THINK too much about everything.

I say, THYNX MYNX!

I don't understand why the BWP folks would move our gig UP, unless they are consciously setting us up for a fall.

But that would mean I'm clueless AND a conspiracy theorist. Ouch.

We'll keep you posted (there must be a pony in here somewhere, right?......)

Tell us how much you love us!

Mynx Signed!

Hey Mynx fans (and enemies, too)! We're signed into a "spec" deal with BlipsWerx Productions! What the heck does that mean?

We don't know!

Just kidding. It means that we've got recording and touring support from BlipsWerx through the summer! Of course, we'll be working like dogs (cute dogs) for the 'Werx to make great things happen so the "spec" deal will magically morph into a full-on recording contract.

Yes, we know the music business is in a shambles. But BlipsWerx doesn't seem to mind that we're jaded, as long as we keep kickin' out chart-topping tunes!

And speaking of music, we might get to record our first original song, "Junkie For Your Love," as part of the deal. Right now, two producers are in the studio hacking apart our perfect arrangement so the song is "better" (wink wink nudge nudge say no more).

Wish we could post an mp3 of our GarageBand demo version for y'all right now, but our BWP contract will be duly cross-shredded and our chances for another deal will be significantly (read, "forever") diminished (read "nullified").

We call it our "singles club" because there ain't no album in the deal!

Finally, the "tour" part of the fun will commence with a smack-down rock 'n' roll show featuring Four Yours Truly (Mynx!) and a couple of other area rockers who are also signed to BlipsWerx.

More TBA, so stay tuned, Mynx fans! We need you to help us make this deal rock the BWP!

And did we mention that we sure do love you (in a "thanks for sleeping with the security guard and/or concession girl in the staff lounge during opening acts and for chaining yourself to the stage during our show last night in order to get backstage and try to you-know-what-you-did" sort of way).

Kiss-kiss.
